Volunteer Saturday at the Botanical Gardens
This past Saturday, the Bermuda Botanical Gardens were buzzing with energy as a small—but dedicated and growing—team of volunteers gathered to care for the Endemic/Native Garden site and the surrounding grounds. We were especially delighted to welcome overseas visitors who joined us bright and early to help spruce up the planter outside Masterworks. Their enthusiasm and fresh perspectives added something special to the morning’s efforts.
Volunteer Saturday is one of the ways our community comes together to protect and celebrate Bermuda’s unique plant heritage. Whether it’s weeding, pruning, planting, or tidying up pathways, each task contributes to the health and beauty of this cherished natural space. The team’s shared passion for native and endemic flora creates a welcoming environment where new friendships form easily—and everyone leaves with the satisfaction of having made a visible difference.
These mornings are open to all, including students seeking community service hours. No gardening experience is necessary—just a willingness to lend a hand. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves and small hand tools such as a spade, trowel, or fork, along with water and sunscreen.
If you’d like to join us for a future volunteer morning or would like more information, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Reach out anytime at bdabotanicalsociety@gmail.com. or see out events page.
Come as you are, dig in, and help nurture one of Bermuda’s most meaningful green spaces. We can’t wait to welcome you at the next Volunteer Saturday!
